Last night I played Mario Kart with my nephews and noticed something that blew my mind.
It seemed that every time I would get closer to being in 1st place, my enemies would turn up their attacks! They tried to run me off the road. They hit my car with turtle shells. They threw ink in my windshield. Storm clouds would hover over my car and strike me with lightning. Strange animals would walk out in front of the car to distract

me. The more I focused on being mad at my enemies for attacking me, the further I fell back from being in 1st place. When I decided to ignore my enemies and keep my head in the race, I won every time.
When it comes to real life, just replace “1st place” with purpose. It might explain why you are experiencing some of the crazy stuff that happens in your life. If you ignore your enemies and keep your head in the race, I guarantee they’ll be on the sidelines (still mad) when you finally reach the winner’s circle.
Psalm 23:5
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”
