Several angles to approaching Valentine’s Day have swirled through my head all day.
I thought about highlighting the importance of having a well-rounded view of love. Romantic love, which often drives Valentine’s Day, is important, but God also created us to give and experience familial, brotherly, and godly love as well.
I thought about addressing the importance of loving yourself in a God honoring way. I say God honoring because there is a major difference between having confidence in who God created you to be and vain conceit, which is usually just a mask for deep-seated insecurity.
While driving myself stir-crazy, pondering the concept of love, I stumbled across the featured image for this post. The first time I saw it was on Facebook via “Dating and Waiting.”
The complex simplicity of the photo blew me away.
I really don’t think the picture needs much explanation.
As you continue to celebrate this snowy Valentine’s Day, remember the lover of your soul.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13.
Happy V.A.L.E.N.T.I.N.E’S Day!
